For the first time, the Urban Sketchers organisation is offering long term workshops, all over the world. We'll have a series of 10 workshop classes created in a range of cities to celebrate 10 years of the Urban Sketchers organisation. While each series of classes is different and will be taught by different people, they all follow the same idea of little stories, medium stories and great stories and are each designed around the city in which they will be held.
Some will be taught by a number of instructors, some by just one.
Here's the detail - check them out and get them booked into your diary :-)

I am a watercolour artist, passionate about colour. I have been painting professionally for over 40 years and love to share my discoveries, so I have created this 'Colourpedia - a swatching Wikipedia' to quote one of my YouTube followers. You can see more of my work, links to my online courses, and many resources and tutorials on my website www.janeblundellart.com. You can also find me on Facebook at Jane Blundell Artist, and on Instagram as Janeblundellart, and on YouTube as Jane Blundell

Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThe closest to me is Los Angeles. It's a two hour drive, depending on the location as Los Angeles is a pretty big area.
I've e-mailed them to ask for more information.
On top of the $450 fee I would have to pay for gas, hotel stays for two nights per weekend and meals. That's a heavy commitment to go into blind. I'm hoping Virginia can give me more details.
It is just possible that more workshop courses will be added as the word spreads. It's a huge undertaking to try to get this up and running all over the world. Keep in mind that you can usually just sign up for one class - you don't necessarily have to do the whole course if it is too far to travel. Good luck!
DeleteI think $450. U.S. is a lot of money for a 2 day workshop
ReplyDeleteplus all the other expenses to account for.
DeleteI don't think any of the courses are only two days - you'll find that they are generally arranged as a series of 10 x 2 1/2 hour or 10 x 3 hour workshops, spread over 10 different time slots. Some may be a lesson a week, some may be two lessons a day for 5 days spread over a few months - each city has made its own decisions.
ReplyDeleteThe comment above was regarding getting to the location each time for the full 10 workshops.
I signed up for the urban sketching class in Seattle which starts next month. It is held once a week for 5 weeks, 3 hours per session. The cost was $265. A great deal! I'm very excited.
